I love pinning home décor images on Pinterest, but a virtual inspiration board isn't nearly as much fun as seeing great design up close and in person. One of the best ways to experience top interior design talent at an affordable price is to visit a local designer showhouse.
Here in Kansas City, we have a chance to check out the best of local design talent at the 46th Symphony Designer Showhouse going on May 9 through June 7. The showhouse is held in a historic home with plenty of character which enhances the whole experience. A designer showhouse offers the opportunity to see different design styles by a variety of talented designers.
Whenever I visit the Symphony Designer Showhouse I usually find some the rooms inspiring, while some rooms look like design disasters. Whether I love or hate a room, I look at the combination of colors, textures and furniture placement, and I always walk away from the showhouse feeling a little more design savvy and wonderfully inspired.
