I love watching great design shows, but I refuse to pay for cable TV when I can get my style fix from design magazines much cheaper. To reach us magazine mavens too cheap to pay for cable TV, HGTV has launched a print magazine called HGTV Magazine. This magazine spotlights many of the stars featured on HGTV, but the magazine not just a glorified infomercial for the popular TV channel.
HGTV Magazine is packed with D.I.Y. projects and great design ideas. This magazine has plenty of articles for weekend warriors weilding power saws and paint brushes, but it also has lots of great ideas for us domestic goddesses that would rather decorate by shopping than by tackling a do it yourself project. Some of the articles that I simply had to clip include the High/Low List featuring affluent pieces and their affordable alternatives, Shop Like a Stylist (at the Container store), Last Minute Chip and Dip Party, and Change it or Chuck It - making over an old armoir verses buying a new one. I may be too cheap to sign up for cable TV, but I will definitely be subscibing to HGTV Magazine.
