This week the best place to find money saving holiday tips from the Cheap Diva is on other web sites! In an effort to share my knowledge (and shamelessly promote my blog and book) I wrote an article for The Dollar Stretcher titled Spend Smarter This Holiday Season which offers a variety of tips on how to save money on gifts. Another article I wrote titled Fabulously Frugal Holiday Shopping Tips from The Cheap Diva appears on tagsellit.com. That article focuses on saving money by shopping for gifts second hand. Both web sites offer lots of great money saving ideas, (besides mine) and I encourage you to check them out.
Here's a money saving tip not mentioned in either article. The holiday season is the best time of year to shop for you! Stores are under tremendous pressure to put everything on sale, so lately I have been stocking up on essentials. I have gotten great deals on everything from athletic socks, to plain turtlenecks and I just bought some much needed curtain panels at half off at Kmart! So keep your eyes open for coupons and deals on everyday essentials that will either go up in price or be hard to find after the holiday season is over.
This year give yourself or the Cheap Diva's in your life the gift that literally keeps on giving. My book The Cheap Diva's Guide to Frugal and Fabulous Living: How to Shop Smart, Look Your Best, Decorate with Style, and Have Fun for Less Money! is full of tips and strategies for making the most of your money during the holiday season and year round.
