Rachel Zoe makes me want to yell at my T.V. There were so many times when I was watching my DVD of Season 3 of The Rachel Zoe Project that I wanted to scream "Stop whining and start styling some clothes!" Rachel Zoe is a celebrity fashion stylist that has become more famous than some of her clients so I expected lots of fashion. What I got was the occassional tantalizing bits of video from fashion shows and red carpet moments and lots of whining from the featured stars of the show about what a tough business they are in.
There were pleny of opportunities for drama, like when a blizzard threatens to shut down a fashion show or another stylist snaps up an Oscar worthy dress she wants, but the only real tension on this show seems to be between Rachel Zoe and her husband Rodger who bicker like an old married couple. If I had a dollar for every time he whines about Rachel not making time for their personal relationship I could buy some of the designer clothes featured in the show!
There are moments of humor and the insider look at the life of a professional stylist can be very interesting at times, but Rachel Zoe's personality is not bubbly or energetic enough to make for interesting television. I loved some of the fashion show moments and it was a real shocker to see how many obstacles can arise when trying to get a job done. I would recommed this DVD to aspiring stylists who want a reality check on what the business is really like.
